Our Peer Educators:
  Kevin Ditcham & Lauren Telford

Peer Education is a new way of teaching children and young people important things about life. Peer Education is a very cheap and simple way to get the important message accross. The Peer Education programme involves young people working with other children and young people through games, and interactive lessons. No adults are in the proximity of the education taking place. We feel that this method works best as children often feel to scared or embarassed to ask an adult a question, but with other young people taking the lesson, there is more of a relaxed, conversational feel to it. Everyone therefore feels enthusiastic and keen to learn.

Peer Education does not involve children being sat down and made to learn. They will be asked if they want to join the lesson but never forced. If children are forced into a lesson against their will, they will not be focussed on the discussions and will not learn anything, therefore a waste of time for them and the group will be disrupted.
